Metail

Metail is a UK-based company (Cambridge) that applies computer vision and machine learning to apparel production and marketing. Its best-known product, EcoShot, takes a brand's 3D garment designs and turns them into on-model imagery — placing the design on a real or AI-generated model — without a physical sample, cutting the usual photoshoot timeline down to hours. The company also builds MAS (Metail-Avatar-System), which creates a 3D body scan from two smartphone photos, and MAMA (Machine-Learning Advanced Motion Analytics), a factory tool that tracks how long sewing-line workers take on each task to flag inefficiencies. Metail sells to apparel brands, 3D fashion designers, and garment manufacturers rather than individual consumers. Its imagery tools connect with 3D CAD software such as VStitcher, letting designers move a garment from digital pattern to marketable photo without cutting fabric. The EcoShot product line has since moved to a partner, Tronog, which now operates it on Metail's behalf.
