Certy AI is an anti-scam moderation product built by Certy S.r.l., an Italian cybersecurity company founded in Cagliari in 2018. The service is aimed specifically at classified-ad and marketplace platforms, where fraud is a persistent problem, rather than general enterprise IT security. The core product is an API-based moderation system that inspects listings and user behavior, comparing them against a database of known scammer patterns to flag suspicious ads before they reach buyers. It also analyzes individual accounts' activity history to produce a trustworthiness signal, and adds controls around in-platform messaging and payments to reduce transaction fraud. A phishing-detection component watches for attempts to lure users into unsafe links or data disclosure. One notable feature is photo anonymization: when sellers upload product photos that include people, for example someone modeling clothing for sale, Certy AI can blur faces and strip identifying context or location information from the image while keeping the product itself visible. Certy S.r.l. says the system can be integrated with or without APIs, giving platforms flexibility in how deeply they embed it.
