Logically, formerly known as Afforai, is an AI research and writing assistant that launched in 2023 and rebranded to its current name as the product expanded beyond its original scope. It is built for researchers, students, writers, and professionals who need to find, read, and cite sources without losing track of where a claim came from. The core workflow runs on three modes: searching uploaded documents directly, querying Semantic Scholar's index of more than 200 million peer-reviewed papers, or pulling in real-time results from the open web. Every answer is tied back to a source, and the tool supports PDF annotation, reference management, literature review organization, and drafting help for academic and professional writing, across more than 100 languages. Universities including Yale and Duke are reported to use the platform. One limitation is the rebrand itself: existing users of the Afforai name reported the domain and branding change to Logically was communicated poorly, which caused some confusion about whether the product was still active. The underlying research and writing tools continue to operate, now under the Logically name and at logically.app rather than the original afforai.com domain.
