WriteMage

WriteMage puts ChatGPT directly inside whatever app a user is already working in, rather than requiring a separate browser tab. On macOS it floats over any application in a Spotlight-like window, so a person can ask a question or request a rewrite without copying text out of their document, email, or chat window. On iOS it works as a keyboard extension, making the same assistance available while typing in any app. The tool keeps session memory so a conversation stays coherent across follow-up questions, and it stores chat history locally with custom labels so past exchanges can be found and resumed later. A built-in prompt editor lets users write and save their own prompts for tasks they repeat often, such as a specific tone of email reply or a recurring formatting request. WriteMage is aimed at Mac and iPhone users, from casual writers to professionals handling day-to-day communication, who want AI help woven into their existing workflow instead of a standalone chat app. It requires macOS 12 or later on Intel or Apple Silicon, and users connect their own OpenAI API key or pay for a managed-API subscription with a monthly word allowance. The developer built WriteMage starting in December 2022 and is based in Bangkok.
