Poe is a chat platform built by Quora that gives users a single place to talk with a wide range of AI models instead of subscribing to each one separately. Inside one interface, people can switch between models from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, xAI, Meta, DeepSeek, and Mistral, plus dedicated tools for image, video, and audio generation, and compare how different models answer the same question. A bot-building feature lets users create custom bots by combining a base model with a system prompt and knowledge files, then keep them private or publish them to a marketplace where anyone can browse and use bots made by other people, covering things like research help, coding, and creative writing. Poe recently added group chats that let up to 200 people collaborate inside a single conversation thread alongside more than 200 available models. Conversations sync across devices, so a chat started on desktop can continue on a phone. Poe is free for most everyday usage, with paid subscription tiers starting around $4.99 a month that unlock higher usage limits and premium models, and a developer API is also available. Because Poe layers on top of many providers' models rather than building the underlying AI itself, response quality can shift whenever an upstream provider updates its models.
