Wonder Studio

Wonder Studio is an AI-powered platform that automates much of the work of compositing computer-generated characters into live-action video. Point it at footage of an actor's performance and it tracks the actor's movement, captures body, hand, and facial motion without dedicated motion-capture equipment, matches the scene's lighting, and replaces the actor with a chosen CG character. The tool outputs the motion-capture data, a cleaned background plate, camera tracking, and the composited shot, and lets artists export the CG character as an FBX file into industry tools like Maya, Blender, Unreal Engine, and Unity for further refinement. The company, Wonder Dynamics, was founded by actor-producer Tye Sheridan and VFX supervisor Nikola Todorovic, with an advisory board that has included filmmakers such as Steven Spielberg and Joe Russo. Autodesk acquired Wonder Dynamics in 2024, and in March 2025 rebranded Wonder Studio as Autodesk Flow Studio, folding it into Autodesk's Flow cloud platform for media and entertainment; Autodesk stated the rebrand did not change availability or pricing. Wonder Dynamics describes the tool as automating roughly 80-90% of the "objective," repetitive parts of a VFX shot, leaving artists to handle the creative, subjective work — it is positioned as an assistant for VFX artists rather than a replacement for them.
