proudP

proudP is a smartphone app that measures urine flow at home using the sound of urination, captured through the phone's microphone, rather than a clinical uroflowmetry machine. In the United States, the company states proudP is cleared by the FDA as a Class 2 uroflowmetry device. The app also includes the IPSS (International Prostate Symptom Score) questionnaire used to assess benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) symptoms. Results are compiled into a printable report designed to be shared with a physician or urologist, and the app tracks flow rate and symptom trends over multiple tests so users and their doctors can follow changes over time, including how medication is affecting symptoms. A free tier includes three uroflowmetry tests plus the IPSS survey and a report; a paid subscription unlocks unlimited tests and full access to test history and trend data. A peer-reviewed multicenter pilot study found that flow-rate improvements measured by proudP after prostate surgery correlated significantly with improvements measured by conventional clinic-based uroflowmetry, supporting its use as an at-home complement to some clinical testing.
