Mixus builds AI agents for legal work that operate inside the tools attorneys already use — email and Microsoft Word — rather than a separate chat interface. An attorney sends a task by email, optionally CC'ing colleagues who need to review it, and gets back finished work product such as contract redlines, issue lists, deal models with live Excel formulas, or extracted data from due-diligence documents. The platform is built specifically for large law firms, with the company citing Am Law 10 firms among its customers, and it emphasizes firm-level oversight rather than fully autonomous execution: agents follow "playbooks" learned from a firm's past matters and approved language, track every change with a cited reason, and require attorney sign-off before anything advances. Every review and approval is logged in an auditable trail. Security claims include SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001:2022 certification, GDPR and HIPAA alignment, AES-256 encryption at rest, customer-managed keys, and zero data retention from its model provider (Anthropic's Claude). The company was co-founded by Elliot Katz, previously of autonomous-vehicle company Phantom Auto, and raised a $2.6 million pre-seed round in mid-2025. Because the product is purpose-built for legal workflows, it is not a general-purpose workplace AI tool despite earlier positioning suggesting broader use.
