Chatworm

Chatworm is a chat client that connects directly to the APIs of several large language model providers, including OpenAI, Anthropic, DeepSeek, Gemini, Qwen, Mistral, and Grok, instead of relying on one company's product. Users supply their own API key and can switch between models depending on the task, which the platform positions as a faster and more cost-effective alternative to a single provider's official app, since responses come straight from the API rather than through a rate-limited consumer interface. Beyond text chat, Chatworm supports real-time speech conversation using Whisper for transcription and includes text-to-speech output with a choice of voices, making it usable as a voice assistant as well as a text chatbot. It is available as a web app, an Android app, and a Windows desktop client, and its source code is published on GitHub, so technically inclined users can inspect or self-host it. Because it works by connecting to a user's own API key rather than bundling a subscription, Chatworm is best suited to individuals and developers already comfortable managing API costs directly with a provider, rather than people who want an all-inclusive, no-setup chat subscription.
