UniFab

UniFab is a desktop and cloud application that uses AI models to improve the quality of video and audio files rather than create new content. Its video tools upscale footage up to 16K resolution, remove noise and grain, colorize black-and-white footage, sharpen and brighten faces, convert SDR video to HDR, raise frame rates up to 120 FPS, and convert between more than 1,000 formats. On the audio side it can upmix stereo tracks to surround sound and remove background noise or isolate vocals, and it also generates subtitles and can translate video into other languages. Processing runs on TensorFlow-based models with hardware acceleration through NVIDIA CUDA, TensorRT, AMD, and OpenVINO, and an Auto-Recommend feature suggests which tools to apply to a given file. The software is built for content creators, videographers, YouTubers, and restoration professionals working with lower-quality source footage who need it to look presentable on modern displays. It runs on Windows and macOS as well as through web-based and cloud-processing tools. UniFab sells its features as one-time lifetime licenses rather than a subscription, ranging from a single-purpose upscaler around $130 up to an all-in-one suite near $300, with a free trial capped at three uses per feature. A practical limitation is that AI upscaling cannot recover detail that was never captured in the original footage.
