JotBot AI

JotBot is an AI writing assistant built for the earlier, messier stages of writing, research, drafting, and editing, rather than one-shot text generation. Its distinguishing feature is Language Style Matching: it learns a user's voice from uploaded writing samples and produces drafts meant to sound like the user wrote them, rather than in a generic AI tone. An AI Autocomplete feature can continue a piece of writing from wherever the author left off, aimed at breaking through writer's block. The tool also functions as a research assistant. It can pull in PDFs, websites, and text sources, generate notes and citations from them, and let users chat with an in-document assistant to ask questions about their sources or request edits to their draft. This combination of research and drafting tools is aimed at writers, students, and academic researchers who want help managing sources as much as help with the writing itself. JotBot is operated by SLAM Ventures, LLC and offers a free tier. One consideration for students: because it can draft and continue text automatically, using it in coursework raises the same academic-integrity questions as other AI writing tools, and institution-specific policies should be checked before relying on it for graded work.
