Full Stack AI

Full Stack AI is a command-line tool that generates a complete, production-ready Next.js application from a single natural-language prompt. After a user sets an OpenAI API key and runs the npx fsai gen command with a description of the app they want, the tool produces a working full-stack codebase rather than a static mockup or partial scaffold. Generated applications ship pre-configured with a fixed, opinionated stack: TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Prisma as the ORM, a Postgres database, tRPC for type-safe APIs, built-in authentication, Stripe for payments, and Resend for transactional email. This lets a developer skip the usual setup of wiring these pieces together by hand and start from a runnable baseline instead. The tool is aimed at developers and indie hackers who want to go from an app idea to a deployable boilerplate quickly, whether for a hackathon, an MVP, or a personal project. It was built by Elie Steinbock, who also created the open-source email tool Inbox Zero, and Full Stack AI itself is free and open source, distributed via npm and GitHub. One limitation is that it produces a fixed stack rather than letting users pick their own frameworks or database, so it fits best when the generated combination of tools already matches what a project needs.
